THE RED DOOR has collaborated with YouthKiAwaaz, India’s largest online and mobile platform for young people to express themselves on issues of critical importance. As part of our outreach program and media advocacy we have realised that the world needs to hear stories of mental health-mental illness (those being given labels). Individuals with mental health labels are more than often not heard off and do not have the platform to be heard. As per UNCRPD’s motto ‘Nothing About Us Without Us’, The Red Door hopes that the very individuals who are affected by these said disorders start talking about themselves, about their experiences, their narratives, their stories.

So what are you waiting for? We don’t have to say more. Get writing and mail us your stories!

The way in which you share is not limited to writing. It can be a video or audio file. Or it can be pictures and art work. If you are sending in images – it would be recommended that you have a narrative along with it to help readers better understand your story.

The process of coming out of the closet is quite difficult for many people when it is on a public platform. Knowing these issues will arise you are free to use a different name.

Send in your stories directly to as a Word/Note document. They can be written in any style you wish – creative or academia or in between.
Note: TRD does not hold copyright of your stories but we reserve the right to use them for any further work. However, we will always check with you first.
Peace & Colour!

About thereddoorproject

I do not play a therapist nor a psychologist. I simply show you and guide towards possibilities that has been lost. The Red Door is a bridge...and intersection. It'll show you how to cross over. Once you do...the roads are your's to choose.
